What Is A Dental Extraction?
A dental extraction (also referred to as exodontia) is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. The standard of care that a comprehensive dental implant centers implores for extractions is to utilize an experienced and qualified specialist (i.e. Periodontist, Oral Surgeon) to perform the procedure. A tooth extraction may be clinically necessary for a variety of reasons, some of which include: tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration, failed root canal therapy, gum disease and chipped or cracked teeth.
